i like the NAPA sets for non-performance applications... i get this semi-universal set- it baselines as big block chrysler/AMC the distributor ends are unterminated- you finish to desired length- every wires gets shortened by no less than 3" so there is plenty to work with and mimic factory wire lengths. i can provide the part # if anyone is interested in this set, i literally used 3 sets of this ign wire kit on 2 440's and 1 57 lincoln 368 [which also has an offset/canted distributor- only at the rear of the block]
Napa offers these kits in dark blue silicone or black rubber. they have other "center distributor" kits. for a poly block/spitfire type motor, you want straight boots at both ends. if theres no listing for the early mopars, look up something like a 68-72 olds 350 - dimensionally almost identical from distributor to plug locations... actually any pontiac as well- definitely any 326/350/389/400/428/455 with points dist cap. just have to get creative with cross references...

I just got my 57 DeSoto Firesweep's engine running and it needs new plug wires badly. It has a 325 poly v8 4bbl. I have had terrible luck the last few times I've tried to use sets sold by today's auto parts chains. The short wires are usually too short and the long ones too long. Even a set of Mopar Performance wires I put on a big block awhile back didn't fit near as well as the factory originals. Anyway, this little poly is unlikely to be listed in the computers at the parts counters. Then again, with its distributor in the rear, should I just buy wire for a small block Chevy and see if those fit? (Heresy, I know) Any leads on sources for plug wire sets for our fin cars much appreciated.
