Re: [FWDLK] Engine Paint Codes?

Well, it's been a long time since I've seen a Dodge engine painted silver.
Can't even recall when that was. Anyway, none of the red, turquoise, blue or
orange engines had painted exhaust manifolds. I do seem to recall seeing
some with overspray on them from the factory indicating the manifolds were
on the engine during painting. Again long ago so I can't state for certain.
I'm thinking early 318's?

Anyway, I seriously doubt that even the silver engines had totally painted
manifolds, Probably just overspray. Elsewise, the odor from all that paint
burning off would just destroy that "new car" smell.

And, the REAL answer is..no drum roll necessary :

(For the DODGES, anyway), the exhaust manifolds were painted
right-along-with the assembled engine-block.

The paint probably burned-off quickly, but OEM, on Dodges, they were painted
in Engine-Silver.
