Rode in a 58 IMP vert, a few years ago, and its OEM radio system's sound quality was mind-boggling; the great sound may have been due in part to the sumptuous leather upholstery and the Hartz-cloth top, and the car's insulation, but, it was a memorable ride. Might help to let us know in case others have forgotten too.My own two cents is that I really don't want the 'luxury' of pushing a button to go from one talk show or Mexican AM program to another. There's only one or two stations in my area to listen to.However, there are some models where the station seeking radio has a better sound system. I believe the '58 DeSoto station seeking has a separate amplifier. In that case there would be an added advantage.--Roger van Hoy -----Original Message----- From: eddee@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, February 06, 2012 3:49 AM To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [FWDLK] SEARCH TUNE RADIO ANYONE?? HELLO MEMBERS I have been considering for a while whether to install my refirbed search tune into my 58 , or whether to leave the car as it came from the factory with the standard radio. I'm still not sure, but I want to test the waters. I refuse to go the ebay route--getting too expensive and its not that important that I sell it. IF ANYONE is TRULY interested, please contact me off line for addt'l info or offer Its the 1957 unit--model 917--fully refirbed about 5 years--never installed. Price range--$600 or more It wont bother me to hold on to it for a while ED ECKERSON ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ----- No virus found in this message.
