Guys,
Assembly lines were not shut down or stopped for
special equipment. This items to be assembled are lined up hours and
days ahead of the assembly time. They just come together like everything else on
the assembly line. Oddballs cars get options that are not on the
option list, but put on anyway and called a "SPECIAL ORDER" the option
for that particular car is not listed on the dealers order sheet.
Don't get me wrong, the Chrysler with the Dodge front end on what looks like a
Chrysler 300 really looks weird and may be fake------but------I would never
bet money on it being factory assembled. There are VIP's in every company that
have terrible taste in lots of things and still carry a lot of weight. If some
VIP or customizer built that car as a conversation piece--------well,
he hit a home run!!!!!
If one of the executives for Chrysler loved the Chrysler 300 and
his wife loved the 59 Dodge front end-----which one of the general labors are
going to tell him they won't build it for him?????

I'm not saying never, I'm saying show me the build sheet
if you claim your Chryplodge D-300D came from the factory that way.
It's just too easy to do it now and make up a story.
Picture it,
1957, Chrysler has the style people are going crazy for, they can barely
keep up with orders and are putting on extra staff. You really think
they're gonna slow down the line to make freak cars?
Dodge options on a
Dodge for some racing promo, heck yeah, there's something it it for
Chrysler, race on Sunday and sell on Monday. Special interiors, why
not, if they fit without a lot of effort. But '59 Dodge front clip
specially made without side trim hung on a '58 Chrysler, come
on!

Sure looks like 1959 300E with a 1959 Dodge front clip on it to me. What

The Kingsway had the Plymouth dash but with the letters "D O D G > E"
in the aluminium around the speedo instead of "P L Y M O U T H". Here >
