Actually, the fin shaving doesn't look all that bad and the work looks
professional - especially the detail above the tail lamps. Of course it no
longer has the panache of Ex's last fin hurrah but if you recall, the OE
car makers also cut back their fins in the early '60s including Chrysler; Caddy
in '60, Buick in '60 and again in '61, Ford in '62 and others.
The fin era had drawn to a close and perhaps the original owner wanted
his car to look more contemporary!

that has had the fins have cut down.
It looks odd, but must be the original owner didn't like them that
