Well pretty much anything can be done, but is it
practical? Aluminum case TorqueFlites have a flex plate to mount the
torque converter rather than the flywheel type setup the cast iron T-F's
use. So you'd probably have to change the crankshaft. Not sure what
crankshaft would give you the output shaft and still work in the
325.
Beyond that, if you can find a 1962 only Chrysler Imperial T-F
you have the aluminum case with the rear tailshaft emergency brake.
Seems like it would be easier to [a] overhaul the cast
iron T-F or [b] swap both engine and transmission for a matched pair. 361 or 383
with aluminum T-F and a C-body rear end with Bendix brakes would be a nice
setup.

Subject: [FWDLK] WONDERING ABOUT SOME
UPGRADES
OK gang, I"m looking at a 57 Dodge fairly close to me, and
wondering about upgrades.
Can a later model 904 or 727 be mated to a 325? Which also makes
me wonder can newer style rear backing plates and emer. brakes be used in the
FL cars?
Want to keep original engine, which may have a spun bearing,
but not too worried about the trans and rear, or at least brakes.
