Hi Gang,
How about a discussion on where, when and how a Forwardlook cross
country tour could be organized for a couple years down the road? This
is something I have thought about since Tulsa.
I know we are spread out from coast to coast and continent to continent,
but after seeing the show from around the globe in Tulsa, I think a
major cruise could be a viable plan.
I can give you some thoughts I have had, and I will admit they are
somewhat self centered. Since I am in the Midwest, and in a state,
Wisconsin, bordering the Great Lakes, I have thought about a run around
the lakes.
A good starting point could be somewhere around Chicago, moving
North through Wisconsin, along Lake Michigan's Western shores. Stopping
along the way at predetermined sites, then making our way to the
Northern part of WI and heading West along Lake Superior to Duluth
Minnesota. After leaving Duluth, move NE along Lake Superior's
Northern shore and head toward the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I am
not all that familiar with the highways and roads along the Eastern
shores of Lake Michigan and Eastern Great Lakes, but I am sure there are
those on the list who could give valuable information as to plan a great
ride.
The other thought I had would be to plan a cruise to coincide with a
large midwestern car show and swap meet such as Iola WI, which is held
the third weekend of July each year.
Another would be a Mississippi River run from one end to the other,
from Minnesota to Louisiana.
I am willing to help in planning such a cruise, if there is enough
interest from other list members. And I think it would take two years
to organize a cruise of this size.
Anyone up for a Forwardlook Cruise... say in 2012?
Any ideas? Let's talk fins and a cruise!
