The body ID and options tag should be directly below the
voltage regulator in the engine compartment, at 4:00 from the brake assembly and
8:00 from the left hood hinge. At least that's where it is on my '55
DeSotos. Not sure how it's fastened on; there don't appear to be any
screws.
The vehicle number is, as mentioned, a stainless steel plate
on the driver's hinge post below the dog leg.

suppose to be on the fire wall directly below the windshield wiper
,according to the service manual . But it's not, the power brake booster
is there. Is it located somewhere else? |
