All US-built 1955 Chryslers to the best of my knowledge are like any other 
1953-1963 Chrysler product - the serial number is on a stainless steel tag 
that is spot-welded to the doorjam between the upper and lower door hinges 
(some 1954-back it's above the upper hinge).  1953-63 are just the years I 
am personally familiar with via direct observation.

This tag was apparently added after paint and between that and the 
dissimilar metals it's not uncommon for it to have fallen off, a malady 
common to both Mopar and GM cars (Ford riveted them on the left door, which 
was okay until someone swapped out the doors).  In which case you'll need to 
determine the serial via one of the hidden locations on the frame or body 
panels.


Models built in/for Canada or export may differ.
