Owen: With respect to my '55 C-300 (and all 55-58 300's), the book is non-specific. Our car has core 1541641 which the book shows as proper for '55-'56 DeSoto Firedomes and Chrysler Windsors w/a/c; and '55-'56 Fireflites, NY's, Imperial's and Crown Imperial's w/o a/c. The book does show a presumably larger radiator core 1599992 for '55-'56 Fireflites, NY's, Imperial's and Crown Imperial's w/a/c. I have noted that a/c cars of this era have a fully boxed shroud on the back of their cores. After all this and on a whim, I Googled "1686501 radiator" and was led to our club website (imagine that!) that shows all proper radiators for '55-'65 300's. The 1686501 is for a stick shift '57 300. See: http://www.chrysler300club.com/rcmstuff/hints/helpfulhints.htm It confirms I have the correct radiator in my '55 and that the 1599992 core was installed on '55 and '56 a/c 300's--just like a NY or Imp. The summary shows some cores for '57 and '58 300's that do not show up in the parts book. Once again the website had the answer. I can not find it in my passenger car listing, maybe it is light commercial? I can tell you it does bolt right up to a '57 Chrysler passenger car though. Thanks for any help.
