Back in the early-mid 60's "fake" Vinyl roofs were
a big aftermarket business. Two strips were applied to simulate seams and a
substance something like RhinoLiner was sprayed on in the color of your choice.
Places like Earl Schieb, and Jack Lorens auto painters as well as many small
shops and new and used car dealers would use it as a dress up or way to inflate
the price like undercoating etc.
Always looked kind of tacky to me. Anyone else remember?

It would be a cleaver painter who would have to
reproduce that roof should it become damaged.
