on the early afb's in 2x4 setups, they take the place of actual idle set screws on the throttle lever... i think [just did it a month or so ago on the 58 commando] i have them somewhere out around 3 turns... when i put the carbs back together after full rebuild- i went all the way in then out around the 3 turn mark... since i started it- i played with them a few times, but regardless of what they're supposed to be, get them where the idle rpm sounds good- then recheck idle mixture, rpm will probably change again, then re-adjust the air bleeds... repeat until it reaches idle perfection. do all the idle adjustments when at running temp- make sure rear carb choke is open and idle cam is at its lowest/non-functioning position -----Original Message----- From: eddee@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tue, 30 Dec 2008 1:50 pm Subject: [FWDLK] DUAL AFB CARB SET UP Hello Members.
I have a question for those with the in-line dual AFBs
I am setting up a pair and was confused at the IDYLE AIR VALVE settings.
They are the 3/4" Brass nuts at the front of each carb.
MOPAR says start at 4 turns out.
The restorer said to start at 3 turns out
I am at 2 turns out and I think they want to go in more
Can anyone advise their experience
