Spacer on top of heat shield. The
correct sequence is:
Manifold
Gasket
Heat Shield
Gasket
Spacer
Gasket
Carb
Yes, it needs three gaskets to work
without leaking.

Subject: [FWDLK] Flat 6 carb spacer
Ok, this should be my last question for now. I'm having hard starting
problems with my flat 6 in my 56 Plymouth when it's hot. I've been having them
for years but never really bothered figuring it out. I was talking to Dave at
C@C about it and he mentioned to me about a spacer
between the carb and manifold. Helps to keep the gas from boiling out of the
carb. I do have the spacer on my carb. Here is the question.
In the order going up, should it be
manifold - spacer - heat shield - carburetor
or
manifold - heat shield - spacer - carburetor
should the spacer be between the carb and heat sheild or between the heat
shield and manifold.
