Yeah, I wouldn't have taken up the bandwidth here, but I seem to remember
from a few weeks ago that a large number of the members on here use eBay either
to buy or to sell things. These changes will hurt everybody in the long
run - a lot of the people who sell parts and things are not high volume sellers,
so when they go away, where do you find those already hard to find pieces?
Onlineauction.com has a motors section I haven't had a chance to really sit
and browse through yet. They have a deal where you can buy in and after
that for $8 a month list as much as you want, sell as much as you want, and
never pay another dime. But they have around 250,000 total listings to
eBay's 14,000,000 as of this morning. There's a number of bigger sites
inbetween that have more listings going, but some of them I haven't even been to
yet. And I tried a place called epier.com just because I liked the
pun in the name, but I couldn't even find the one listing I tried when I entered
the number in their search.
But I think it's going to be this fall or winter before things shake out
and any particular site emerges as a clear, solid alternative. And I want
personally to be shut down on eBay before those changes go into effect, just so
that if they should discover the company is tanking and try to change it back to
what it was, I still have a useable account there.

sell on eBay
good that bill posted this note.... i usually delete the "ebay seller bla
bla bla" emails... since most are a hoax.....
anyway... a guy recently bought a car i listed one ebay 2 weeks ago- he
sells a large volume of cars on ebay weekely as his business is accepting
donated cars, sellings them, then fwd'ing it to charities, or
whatever... but he was telling me in general conversation the future
inability to leave a Neg to non-paying bidders, etc.
its funny on ebay too about the sellers fees going up- considering the
volume of sellers has to increase almost daily... hungry for the old dollar...
but who isnt these days... money destroys friendships, marriages,
lives....
