Title: Re: [FWDLK] Odd cambinations

When I took delivery of my 1978 Dodge Diplomat, all of the interior labels were for its Chrysler LeBaron twin.  Fortunately, the dealer was able to put in the correct stuff so I no longer had a “Dodgler”.  Whatever, it proved to be as real hunk of junk which I dumped after three years.  The next Chrysler product I bought was my 57 Dodge in 2003.

Those are classic cases !   Thanks for sharing.

I worked in a Dodge dealership for three years in the late 1960's.

. We had lots of "fun" too.

A bottle under the right rear window regulator with a note in it.

Peanut shells under the carpet in the front seat of a Chrysler.

Something new every day.  All factory supplied stuff.

We had a 1958 Impala Conv. with the right rear seat side panel  having
a different color anodized insert from the left side. We didn't notice
it for 2-3 years.

And working in a VW dealership, I laid my drop-light on the carpet and
burned a hole  in it. Right under the drivers feet.  I took a Mudguard
and cut out the Wolfsburg Crescent and trimmed the carpet for it to
fit. Looked good and no one outside of the shop ever knew, If it ever
got to a judging, you can hear him now saying "I bought it new and
that's the way it came!"

One of the web boards I go to, someone started a thread about oddball

nugget:

When I was growing up, one of my parents' friends was a Mopar dealer.
One day in 1960, he came by the house with a brand new Dodge that had
just been delivered from the factory. There was different model outside
trim on one side as compared to the other. In the interior, the door
panels on the passenger side were white while the drivers side was
black. It seems like some inspector in the factory should have noticed.

Now you have an argument for restoring one with different trim on each
side -
