I too, have had more than one bad experience w/UPS shipments.
Items literally destroyed, and they say more or less, "too bad, should've packed
it better". Grrr. I've not had anything lost, yet, but I use them so little
anymore.
I made special efforts to pack when I ship. Even the lady at
the antique store where I shipped UPS went to bat for me w/the district rep. No
go.
Their claim of insurance is as worthless as far as I'm
concerned. With USPS, you can get delivery comfirmation, insurance, etc.

UPS
I had a similar experience with UPS leaving a package at a home for
handicapped people that I was supposed to get (a part for my Fury I spent
weeks calling around and looking for). I checked the tracking # and they said
it was signed for by such and such a name, I spoke to a woman at UPS and she
told me it wasn't their problem, they would only have done something about
it if I had called the day it was delivered (like I knew what day they
delivered it). I just drove up my road knocking on doors until I got the right
place. UPS has a poor track record with me,they have lost and broken many
things I have shipped out and received and they always never really seem
to care at all, I try to use the Post Office as much as possible.
