Rich, it was a '57 Dodge , and it was featured in a part-page article,
in a magazine, Like Motor Age, IIRC; the title of the article is "Jato
Jappery"--as in "Jet Assisted Take Off", and I think that the Coronret
2-dr's high-speed run occured on a dry lake bed in CA, rather than @
Bonneville.
It's funny how that stunt is still remembered.

Yesterday [saturday] I was watching the "Mythbusters" gang put small
rockets on the roof of a car [sounds like fun] and they showed a picture
of an earlier attempt by some Chrysler engineers who replaced the gas
tank with a rocket [not jet] engine on a '58 Dodge !!!
