Sounds like a fuel starvation problem, Nick. I think it's time to clean the
tank.
Imagine this> floating junk in the tank collects on the pickup filter in the
tank, starving the engine. After it dies and sits for awhile, the junk
floats away from the pickup and the car will start again.
You could try to drain the tank while its still in the car..you won't get
all the junk out, but if you see a bunch of junk come out, you will know it
needs a serious cleaning.

I've since had the carb rebuilt at a very reputable carb shop, bought a new fuel pump and I am still having some problems. The car is running better with each thing I've done but it still dies unexpectedly every so often while idling. It always restarts but only after letting it sit for about 20 seconds. Whether it is hot or cold doesn't seem to matter. Points and condenser and rotor are new. I am thinking it is electrical but not sure what. Would a bad coil cause this? Thanks, Nick Nichols.************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go tohttp://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
