My understanding is that when POR 15 is exposed to the sun it must be topcoated also.

I painted my boat trailer with POR 15 at my son's suggestion. The trailer has never seen water since I bought it, and the paint is rusted through after only three years of exposure to weather here. I would never use POR 15 again--No better than a good enamel.
