Well, thanx to the assistance of new List member, Scott Bray, you can all, now, "enjoy(????)" looking at the 1958 CRL 2-dr "customization" , on the FWDLK's Rec Room forum...... In looking @ the car, it probably WAS a mid-year Spring Special model, with the wide side-trim, end-of-fins "caps", and license plate "escutcheon" It may also be a D500 (based on the proper-placement of the left-side D500 emblem. That said, & no-doubt inspired by the Generic Motors' affinity for the slathering-on application of chrome/stainless onto their 1958 models, AND in the obsessive behavior of people who entirely cover their bodies with tattoos, and, because-he-COULD-do-it, the car's owner just kept-on applying more-and-more 'trim', to the car! Its 1-color motif probably contributed to its being a candidate for 'customization'. You will note (if you are able to DO so) that the fit-and-finish of the car is EXCELLENT! Unfortunately, to 'restore' the car, someone will have to weld-up a LOT of cars, and then re-paint most of the OEM paint!!! SOME of the custom-touches are rather "subtle", and it seems like several viewings are necessary to find most of them (hint: look @ the headlights). The car used to be located in Crawford County, OH (good memory, Neil!), and, as Charles has written, the PUMPKIN Run would appear to be a GOOD venue, for the display of this Halloween Car!! Enjoy.
