I think part of the "trick" to the function of an oil bath
is to
1. use very light oil so it will splash, especially when
hot. Most people use what is left in their bottles of 10-30 or 10-40 and
when hot it doesn't get on to the screen media.
2. drive the car often and on rough roads! The
more rockin' and rollin' the car does, the more oil is on the
media.
Too many collector cars sit far more than they are
driven.
