STP is little more than a Viscosity Index Improver. This is what the
refineries add to oil when refining it to bring it up to the weight
they want, like 40 weight. It mostly thickens the oil. Just buy thicker
oil and save the money.
I used STP in the 60's and it damaged my 409 two times. The first time within 1 hour of the oil change and I didn't connect the damage to the STP, but the second time, it blew within 5 minutes of the oil change. I've never used it since and have never lost another engine either! regards, Ray On Jul 16, 2006, at 9:35 PM, Dave Stragand wrote: I will also vouch for MMO's effectiveness. Question though. I just did an oil change on a vehicle with noisy lifters, and I added a pint of STP. Would MMO and STP work well together, or should only one be used at a time? -Dave ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
