[FWDLK] Exhaust Manifold Heat Valve Part 2

Hi Gang -

In the process of installing the exhaust manifold heat valve setup, I
snapped the valve stop, which is the thin piece of metal wrapped with an
asbestos-like cloth. Anyone know where I can get one of these ?  What is it
used for and is it necessary to the correct functioning of the valve ?
