Re: [FWDLK] Paint Booth

Title: Paint Booth
My thought would be to pressurize the garage would be better so that any door opening while you were painting or while the paint was still tacky would blow anything around the door out instead of in toward the fresh paint. When I was around 16 I painted my first car in my parents garage in Hammond, Indiana, when I was finishing up the trunk my father opened the garage door and the cottonwood seeds that were gathered around the base of the garage door swirled up and covered the trunk in white, I was able to just wipe and respray and the paint job was good for a first attempt and I have a funny story to remember and retell. I didn't have any fans or anything to protect myself from the fumes but I survived.

Subject: [FWDLK] Paint Booth

I am planning on setting my garage up as a paint booth for my 56 Dodge.  I have everything figured out except for the ventilation.  I have an exhaust fan, but I do not know if it would be better to pressurize the garage by blowing in filtered air of exhaust the garage by blowing out the paint vapors.

Pressurizing with filtered air may help keep dust from being sucked in through the cracks.  Exhausting fumes would pull the fumes off of the floor a little faster.

Does anyone in the group have experience or insight into the pros and cons?
