This thread, (if attached, below) will show a 58 "Coronet" convertible (can't tell, for sure, the car's model, from the pics; "Grille Teeth" WERE an across-the-line option in 58; only 1957 CRL's & Custom Sierra wagons had them--BUT-- this car has the VERY-rare Spring Special "painted" headlight doors, and the paint scheme, itself, may be faded-out Spring Special "Paris Rose", or "Poppy Red". I forget the "official" name, for the 1957-style "full-length" chrome-trim, but, you can see where the 1958-nameplate-location is/was, behind the front wheel-openings. The 1958 "Spring Special" trim items: wide moldings/rear-of-fin 'pyramids'/ rear license plate "Escutcheon"/painted headlight-doors WERE available "individually", from the factory, and/or as dealer add-ons. The "1957" style long- side-trim was NOT part of the "S.-S." 'package'. Sooo, this car may have a unique combination of that 1957-style side trim, with Spring Special paint, and "matching-color" (which indicates that the body color WAS "S.-S." ) painted headlight doors!! The painted headlight doors, for whatever reason (probably: very-expensive to custom-paint, along with the body-color!) are RARELY seen on surviving "S.-S.'s" . The Thread states that the car was sold---bet the owner doesn't know how rare, his car may be!!
