Re: [FWDLK] Cruizin 4-A Bruzin

Knowing the Discovery channel, they'll only replay the episode a couple dozen times between now and next week. You could probably check their website and find out when it will be played next (if it's not on right now).

They actually did two sets of tests on two different cars. One on a fuel injected car (didn't really pay attention to what type, but maybe an Acura or something of the sort) and one on a carbureted car (I think the carbureted car was a mid 80s Oldsmobile of some type, but I don't remember for sure...that might be on the website too). They tested each one at a speed of 35mph and 55mph.

They didn't get too specific about either car as far as what they did to it before hand, but it seems they more or less just fired up the cars and did the tests (I've never known them to do more than the bare minimum needed to get something up and running). They also rigged up a dyno of some sort to use so they could remain stationary (as their fuel delivery set-up was stationary outside the car so they could accurately measure the fuel and such).

That's about all I remember from the show. I figured I'd just throw that out there since I know we recently had a very similar discussion. It will be interesting to see if other people come up with other results.

Hey, Garrett; missed that show; darn it!

Saw part of the episode on "Killer Quick Sand"; tho--I'd LIKE to see
this episode!

What kind of car/fuel system did they test-bet it wasn't a carbureted
"antique" car.

A MODERN fuel-injected car-system is so sophisticated, that the engine's
timing and
fuel delivery should fine-tune itself, on-the-run, so, my question is:
how many different kinds of cars, & in what state-of-tune, did they
test?

I'm not the author of the internet article, on Acetone, so my ego's not
bruised, but, I wish that Myth Busters (Or Dream Car Garage, or
some other Olde Car Show) would test acetone's effect on less than
perfectly efficiently tuned, well-used, carbureted engines.
