The easiest way to spot the fake, with outlook express, is just to highlight a mouse over the links in the message. They never match up, if the link is typed out (http://etc.etc) it's different somewhere in the first part of the address. If it's a button type link, it will show as something other than having ebay.com in it, or it will have ebay.com plus other stuff before the next backslash. It's the same as all the e-mails about your (insert bank name here) account, I get lots of them even though some of these banks aren't even in my state. I just delete them all and ignore them anymore.
