HI Group, Someone in the group suggested that I tell my story as to why I sell these shocks. Well, my name is Joseph Armeni and I own 9 55-56 Desoto's, 1 56 Chrysler and a 56 Imperial. Most are parts cars. About the shocks I sell for the forward look cars. Quite a while ago I needed to find shocks for the front of my 56 Desoto 4dr FireFlite and could not find any available. I searched through many shock specs catalogs and ordered many different shocks until the local parts store refused to order any more until I bought a few. I live in a very small town. The specs in the catalogs are not always correct either, which I learned the hard way. I used original 56 Dodge and 56 Desoto shocks for the collapsed and extended lengths to begin my search. So I found shocks built for later model vehicles that were the closest in dimensions and that needed the least amount of modifying and bought a few sets and figured out the best way and tools to modify them. I had a machine shop modify a carbide cutter ( $100.00 ) so I could make the changes needed for the 57 up shocks so the cuts would be precise. I am just trying to make shocks a little easier to find for our cars and earn a couple dollars too doing it. I get a discount if I buy 10 sets and that is how I can sell my modified shocks for the same price as the original shocks over the counter price prior to modifications. ?
