Yes, it's a good idea to attach just enough of the message you are
replying to in order to help the reader understand what message you are
replying to.

However, it's also accepted "netiquette" to trim the quoted section down
(as below) to include just what's necessary.

on this subject, if only to avoid another 'off-topic' (which i usually
DO appreciate reading) debate, on the merits/functionality of
"including/attaching"  an earlier-posting, for 'reference/clarity'
