If it has been cranking without a recharge, I wouldn’t be surprised to see 11.9, what is it at the starter or the terminals while it is cranking? And what is it after a recharge with the headlights on?

I agree, 11.9V is very low for a car battery and often times a bad battery shows about that.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I'd try another battery. It sure helped mine. Sometimes during warm weather it takes hardly anything to start one, but when it gets a little cold, and the engine doesn't start RIGHT AWAY, things seem to go bad all at once.
