I have a friend that bought a new 63 or 64 Plymouth 2 door sedan with a
413 cross ram engine with a three or four speed behind it and it came new
with dump pipes that were too big to be legal at the local drag strip so the
fix was to stuff beer or pop cans into the pipes to reduce the diameter to
what was required. I remember him telling me that the engine was set up
loose from the factory and to expect to use 1 quart of oil every 60 miles.
