There's no "V" on the trunk of the '58 Plymouth.
The only V on the '58 is on the grille. The trunk will have the letters
P-L-Y-M-O-U-T-H across it and then the button/lock cylinder by which the trunk
is opened. Its very possible that somewhere along the lines, your car acquired a
'57 trunk lid, which is the same in every aspect to a '58 except the emblems,
but the '57 still didn't have a "V" on the trunk lid.
Some pictures of the car where specific parts,
especially the throttle linkage stuff, are missing will help us help
you.

My name is Kelly Ramirez and live in Houston Texas. I am the new
owner of a 1958 Plymouth 4 door Sedan Tan or Almond Color. I'm glad to
have found the Forward Look List. To make the outside complete I need
the emblem that goes on the trunk, I think it looks like a big V. I
also need the passenger's side gravel guard but could use a nicer driver's
side. In the engine I need the connector that connects the gas pedal
rod to something I don't know what it is called. I am missing the
connector that connects a rod with the carburator. These parts are all
supposed to run together from gas pedal to carb but I am missing the 2
little pieces that connects these rods together.
