Check valve? the pump itself will work as a check valve (actually, both
pumps will), it's a good idea to wire a manual switch between the ignition
circuit and the new pump. Electric pumps have been known to fill the
crankcase with fuel if the engine mounted fuel pump should develop a leak.
Electric pumps are great for priming the carbs after long term storage and
for counteracting vapor-lock on hot days.The new pump should be mounted as
close to the tank as possible to get the maximum advantage.
