Group, I recently pulled the dash and interior pieces out of my '58 Coronet and sent it to the paint shop for a freshen-up. I've been able to pull everything out without a problem except for the steering column. It seems that even though I loosened the two bolts that attaches to the steering box, I'm only able to slide the column up about 2 inches. The column will rotate 360 degrees without difficulty but I can't seem to get it out all the way. The service manual doesn't provide much help either. Any ideas on how to get the column out so I can have it painted?
