And yet I can still get a quart of motor oil for around a buck, less if I get the generic stuff - same as it was 12 years ago. Am I the only one who can tell something is really wrong here? They both have to be refined to some extent, and some of the cars I have burn about equal amounts of both - now gas is up double and closing in on triple what it was a dozen years ago (I remember buying gas for 90 cents a gallon in northern PA in 1994). But no real change in the price of motor oil. Go figure.
