It all comes down to efficiency.
While I'm aware that lugging an engine is bad and puts it under a load, I'm asking why this is bad? What does this do that ctually hurts the engine? Does it overheat?
Wear out the clutch faster?Shouldn't effect the clutch. laboring for an engine isn't good, but I also know it does happen (think steep hills at high speed That's why Automatics downshift on hills. Automatics were added for non-drivers so they could clog the roads while talking on the phone. Bottom line, it makes those rattley noises to warn you that expensive noises are coming soon!
