copper should never be used in brake lines as it will "work Harden" from vibration and could become brittle and break.
Steel lines are standard, stainless looks nicer for longer.

Just to reinforce what Joe has advised, He is absolutely correct about the work hardening. In fact I believe it is against the law (DOT) to make any brake lines out of anything except steel.
