Re: [FWDLK] Copper vs Stainless

Somehow I got copied this email. But I do have some revelant comments. A 1953 Firetruck (16,000 pounds as shipped from the factory) I restored had copper brake lines - factory installed. The only problem I had was when I tried to loosen the wheel cylinder "nuts" from the wheel cylinders. The copper twisted and finally broke. I replaced the copper tubing with standard steel tubing. On a 1959 Plymouth I restored, I used SS tubing from one of the custom tubing houses.

I beilive that the SS tubing will look better in the long run which is why I used it.
