Sure, anything's possible, but you've got to be skeptical of these dream cars. Just who are Boccaccio Restorations and what is their motivation in making this claim? Are they going to be selling this car at a premium price? Slap a 354 in a Custom Royal and you've got a custom; make up a story and you've got gold. Chrysler Corp. was for sure in the business of selling cars to the public, not documenting future collectibles. Now that the original cast are in their 70's or older, it becomes easier for restorers to make more extreme claims. Some of the knowledgeable folks on this list might debunk these urban legends. --Roger van Hoy, '55 DeSoto, '58 DeSoto, '42 DeSoto, '41 Dodge, '66 Plymouth, '81 Imperial, Washougal, WA | | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "eastern sierra Adj Services" <esierraadj@xxxxxxxxx> | To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | Sent: Friday, June 18, 2004 11:49 PM | Subject: [FWDLK] RARER Than Rare?? | | | > Ok, you've got your Fury convertibles & sedans, C300 & 300B convies, | > and Adventurer Club Coupes, and Regal Lancer Super-D convertibles, but | > how about a 1957 CANADIAN-BUILT CUSTOM ROYAL 2-dr hardtop D501????? | > | > Right now, in Florida, Boccaccio Restorations is restoring an originally | > Special-Ordered, HEAVILY-optioned (like A/C, HiWay HiFi/rear-speaker, | > power windows, padded dash, rear defroster) Custom Royal 2-dr HT, that, | > oh yeah, also had a $630.00(!!!)
