I have always had good luck with KYB Gas-A-Just in old American big iron. They really bring the car under control and dont spoil the ride. It will firm it up a little but also eliminate a lot of the roll in turns. I had a part # from KYB for all 4 shocks for the 56 but it is lost in a 1 foot high pile of notes and papers. I will try to dig it out but an e-mail or call to KYB might be faster.

Any hints or pitfalls. What kind of shocks should replace the old ones? My car is all original except for the muffler. I want a better ride instead of original I think? Any help is appreciated.
