Charles/List , contemporary review mentioned the vibrating mirrors, and there was even a Technical Service Bulletin (#D-27; 12/18/56) issued, which instructed on how the long-necked mirror shaft can be shortened by 1 1/2" , and the TSB starts out thusly : " To help eliminate possible rear view mirror vibration, the shaft which attaches the mirror to the bracket can be shortened 1-1/2" ....." btw, Gary Goers (@ least, used-to-) sell a wrench that mates to the mirror- base's 'notches', and can tighten the grip on the mirror, and eliminate some/most of the high-speed loco-motion of the mirror-face. btw(ii), the TSB's also discuss noise and/or vibrations in the speedo-assembly, fuel pump, rear shock absorber "mounting-noise" and even in the radio"vibrator noise @ low speeds". Nothing, however, was "said" about problems with driveline imbalances.
