Re: [FWDLK] Brakes? All Seriousness Aside

Well put Tim.

Personally I am going for the 4 wheel power disc setup because of the
prospect of of eating a 56 Dodge dashboard at high speed, but I like the way
you put it.

"Today in these new cars some people cruise in isolation with almost a
strange disregard for physics and believe brakes do nothing but slow you
down. Hey they got air bags and five star safety test to back them up."

Just watch the drivers on the road in NJ and Tims comments seem all too
true.

Well Folks, I look at it a different way, I miss the days of my youth when
children could ride a bike without a helmet, and if you complained to your
mother that the seatbelt was digging into your back she told you to stuff it
down
into the seat, and sit down. Now I just love the little nuances of adjusting
my
centerplane brakes and toping off my single reservoir master cylinder
(without that pesky power unit), prefer the firm grip needed on the wheel
during
panic stops. Yes, give me the old bias nylons and power steering is really
just a
waste of gas. I like it better the old way where you had to pay attention
and
put some effort into it. Today in these new cars some people cruise in
isolation with almost a strange disregard for physics and believe brakes do
nothing
but slow you down. Hey they got air bags and five star safety test to back
them
up. Today the most important thing is good insurance. Let us return to the
prospect of eating a 55 Dodge dashboard at high speed, can we even phantom
the
concept. Do we learn to be safer over time? Oh no my friends, if you drive
the
old ones you are just a warrior on a trusted steed, hunted by a product of
the
new era. God or Darwin will sort us out. Tim
