This is probably my last-allowed message (daily-List-B.S.-limitation), but the "Bendix Duo-Servo" 11x [whatevers] operate differently from the "Lockheed Centerplane, Constant-Contact" brakes. The Lockheeds (if they're arc'ed properly) apply even-brake-lining-pressure, to the drums--their primary problems were (relatively!) LOUSY lining-composition, that tended to glaze-over, when the drums got hot--in part from the 14" wheels, that tightly enclosed the drums. The 'new' FF/FF brake linings reportedly (anecdotelly) provide amazing wet/dry braking response. The Bendix's feature one brake shoe that "slides-around" the drum, slightly, & engages the other 'shoe', & when that 'engagement' occurs, MAJOR braking-response happens! As I said last nite, for whatever "physics" reasons, when I initially binstalled the 11x3" Bendix fronts with my 'old' Centerplane rear brakes, the rear brakes locked-up, on my first test drive, during a sorta-moderate brake-application, from 35-ish mph.
