Well it's that time of year again when us guys up
here in the North have to put our finned beautys into hibernation for a few
months. Was reading a tip in an old 1958 Motor Trend mag. It says "Keep
Doors Weathertight" "When in the garage, leave your car's doors on the "half
latch" thus letting the rubber weather-stripping retain the resiliency
that is lost when the doors are always closed tight." Makes sense to me,
especially if you recently installed new seals, but I'm wondering if by
leaving door ajar for 6 months the weight of the ajar door might be hurting the
hinges thus allowing door to drop half an inch or so when you open it. Any
thoughts?
