DeSoto listed air-conditioning as an option for 1942.

A page from the dealer brochure described the system as being "engineered
the same way as the big systems that cool your favorite movie theater."

The compressor lived under the hood, while the cooling unit resided under
the rear package shelf - much like the unit Chrysler Corporation introduced
in 1953.
