The '60 Chrysler 300 F is the highest valued of the
Chrysler 300 Letter Cars for a combination of reasons. Depending on the
individual's priorities, the following all apply: It is considered
to be the preeminent design year of all Letter Cars. It was the first year
of unibody construction and also the ram induction and also the 4 bucket seat
interior with full length console. This year saw the offering of a
performance package including the 400HP solid lifter hand-assembled motor with
the Pont-a-Mousson 4-speed full synchromesh transmission though the option was
immediately discontinued and only 9 cars so-equipped were assembled. In
1961 the 400HP motor was offered but with only the heavy duty Mopar 3-speed
trans and only a couple of cars were so built.
