Greg, When the wiper is switched off, a set of contact points inside the motor powers the motor in reverse until the blades reach the park position, then a cam opens the points and the motor stops. It is most likely that the contact points need oxidation removed to achieve a good electrical connection. Removal and service of the wiper motor are described in the 56 Dodge Shop Manual, page 182. If so, please let me know what the solution is. My electric veritable speed wipers on my 56 Dodge do not want to park when they are switched off. Several minutes later they will make one more swipe and then park. What is not working correctly to cause this? Hope everyone is having fun driving their cars in this beautiful summer weather. I went to a cruise night last night. Not to many cars there. Someone said that they were all at the "Back to the 50's" show. I will have to try to go there some year. Sounds like a lot of fun!
