We've all heard good and bad things about Coker tires, but I discussed with Coker the whitewall width I needed (2.25 to 2.50 inches), but they produce only 3 inch wide whitewalls in the 235R/75-15 size that goes on my Brand X cars. So, I looked around and found Diamond Back Classics: http://www.widewhitewalltires.com/ They will do whatever whitewall width you want. This was important, not only to get the correct width, but also because, as a percentage of the visible sidewall, the radial tires are not as tall as the bias tires were, so even the correct whitewall width turns out to be an incorrectly high percentage of the sidewall of a radial tire. (So Coker's too-wide whitewall is even more out-of-whack on a smaller sidewall). I've also bought sets of 14" tires for my 1958 Packard Coupe and my 1958 Chrysler NY Town & Country, with a whitewall width that looks right, in my eyes. I do not have any factory documentation of the original whitewall width, though, as I had for my Brand X cars. The improvement in the car's overall appearance is WELL worth the extra money you pay to get the wider whitewalls. It really does make the cars look right. (And the ride improvement from radials makes the cars a lot more pleasant to drive).
