Next time you're under the car, take out the adjuster wheel bolt and slide the cable assy. out a ways(you might want to screw a longer bolt in its place to preserve the adjustment setting).Then, give things a blast of brake cleaner to clean off the oil and squeeze in a bead of Permatex "Ultra Blue" silicone gasket maker into the gap between the adjuster wheel and the case. When you push the cable back in, it will be sealed from the outside by a bead of silicone . It might be a good idea to take a good look at the cable housing, they have been known to develop cracks in the outer cover causing the atf to run down the cable and drip off the adjustment fitting. If the cable itself is seeping you can slide a length of fuel line over the cable and clamp it on both ends with small geardrive clamps.
