Roger, The PowerFlight and cast iron TorqueFlight converters are essentially the same. They will fit interchangeably and some P/Ns are for both trannys. There are several different converters, but the main differences are most likely in stall rpm or internal design improvements. PFs generally had a higher stall converter to compensate for the ?tall? first gear, compared to a TF. Some converters had cooling fins for air cooling, but these were used in both PF and TF. It would be nice if the P/N was marked on the outside, but I don?t recall seeing any. Should there be/Are there any parts numbers on the converter? The one I have most likely would have come out of a 59 Plymouth. What differentiates a torqueflite converter from a powerflite converter, in outward appearance?
